Sir Alex Ferguson hopes to land Borussia Dortmund youngster.
Man United are ready to make an offer of €35m (£28m) for Borussia Dortmund starlet Mario Gotze according to Portuguese source Abola.
The talented young German international has become a much sought after property and having already lured his former team-mate Shinji Kagawa last summer, and with rumours rife that striker Robert Lewandoswki is set to join Man United, perhaps Sir Alex Ferguson is confident he can make it a hat-trick of players from the Bundesliga title holders.
The huge lead Bayern Munich have opened up at the top of the table may act as a catalyst for another high-profile Westfalenstadion departure, with boss Jurgen Klopp must fear his side could be picked clean of talent as a result of the club’s Bavarian rivals great start to the season.
The German youngster is now in his fourth season in the Borussia Dortmund first team and was a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s back to back Bundesliga title winning sides and has the potential to continue his upward progression having put in some stellar performances in the Champions League this term.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s midfield could well do with freshening up and Gotze would add some much needed creativity to the Old Trafford first team whilst also adhering to the club’s push towards a more youthful transfer policy.
Gotze has racked up 91 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, scoring a healthy 22 goals in the process whilst also securing 20 national team caps for Die Mannschaft.
