Old Trafford join race to sign teenage forward.
Juventus are ready to rival Manchester United for the signature of Austrian wonderkid Marcel Sabitzer.
His form at club level saw him rewarded with senior international recognition – he earned a first international cap against Romania in June – but he has since dropped back down to the Under-21 squad.
The teenage forward has become a regular in the Admira Wacker first team and good performances at Under 21 international level have led to a full senior call-up and a great deal of interest.
Sir Alex Ferguson has developed a penchant for shopping around for young talent that he can then play alongside those coming through the club’s academy system as he makes long term plans, most recently signing Nick Powell and Angelo Henriquez over the summer.
By all accounts it will take a fee of around £1m to land the forward who is out of contract in the summer, which may well lead to the Austrian side looking to make something from the sale of a player who will cost nothing in six months.
Juventus will hope to beat Man United to the punch and Antonio Conte may feel that the form displayed by the Serie A title holders over the past 18 months makes them a match for the potential pull of a move to Old Trafford.
