St James’ Park boss keen on St Mary’s skipper.
ALAN PARDEW is plotting a January raid on old club Southampton for Adam Lallana.
Newcastle boss Pards has been an admirer of midfield star Lallana since spending 13 months in charge at St Mary’s.
Saints captain Lallana, 24, signed a four-year deal last year but Pardew will try out the club’s resolve with a bid of £5million.

Adam Lallana is a player who has shown a great deal of promise for a number of years and the manner in which the former England Under 21 international has taken to life in the Premier League has unsurprisingly led to a great deal of interest.
The Southampton captain is now into his seventh season at the South Coast side and was key to the club’s back to back promotions and after over 200 appearances for the Saints it’s possible that the St Albans born midfielder would consider possible alternatives he felt such a move would enhance his career progression.
Pardew knows Lallana well from his time in charge of the club but he may find that £5m is not an offer that would tempt boss Nigel Adkins into selling his skipper, especially as the talented playmaker is tied down to a long term contract.
Lallana has represented Southampton since the age of 12 but may be more likely to be enticed into a move to reunited with Pardew if his side continue to be struggling at the wrong end of the table.
