Parker hands Tottenham injury boost… but is midfielder set for Harry reunion at QPR?
England midfielder Scott Parker has handed Tottenham a major fitness boost by returning to action.
But he is closing on a return to senior action after playing the entire 90 minutes of a 5-1 reserve friendly defeat by Ipswich at Spurs Lodge.
Boss Andre Villas-Boas will be keen to monitor Parker’s progress as he weighs up whether to keep him at White Hart Lane.
Ex-Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is keen to take Parker across London next month to reinforce QPR’s desperate struggle for Premier League survival.

A move to bring Scott Parker to Loftus Road may well be entirely possible as it seems unlikely that Andre Villas-Boas will look to drop in-form Brazilian Sandro in order to accommodate the England man in his starting eleven. Given the 32 year old doesn’t exactly fit the White Hart Lane boss’s long term plans any decent offer for the midfielder may be considered.
Parker has seen injury disrupt a career that was certainly on the climb and perhaps a move to QPR could be a new challenge that appeals to the former Newcastle United man.
QPR could do with an effective defensive midfielder as the likes of Stephane M’bia and Samba Diakite have not prospered this term. Scott Parker is currently recovering from surgery on an Achilles tendon injury and hasn’t played at all since the Euro 2012 finals.
Harry Redknapp spent £5.5m to bring Parker to Tottenham in the summer of 2011 and may well have to fork out a similar amount to land the battler in January.
