Stamford Bridge side one of two big spending outfits keen to land Goodison Park midfielder.

Roman Abramovich is ready to break the bank and splash £30million on in-form Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini in January.

The Belgian has dazzled for David Moyes’ side this season and scored his sixth goal of the campaign on Saturday as Everton came from behind to beat Sunderland at Goodison Park.

Chelsea are seemingly not the only side keen on the Everton midfielder. Zenit St Petersburg have taken an interest in the 25 year old and interest from the Russian big spenders may well spark a bidding war for the Belgian international.

Fellaini has been in sparkling form this term, helping Everton to a solid start to the campaign that has seen the Goodison Park side lose just twice in 15 Premier League matches this season.

The former Standard Liege man has been strongly linked with an exit away from Everton and clearly Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright would find it hard to turn down offers of £30m plus for Marouane Fellaini, despite the fact that Jack Rodwell was sold to Man City over the summer.

Chelsea already have four Belgian internationals on their books, though Eden Hazard is the only member of Rafa Benitez’s squad that is actually currently available to the Spaniard with Thibaut Courtois, Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne out on loan at Atletico Madrid, West Brom and Werder Bremen respectively.

Fellaini has been a consistent force in the English top tier ever since his big money move to Everton back in the summer of 2008. The rangy midfielder has bagged eight goals in 13 Premier League matches thus far this term and is a player David Moyes would be loathed to lose.
