Emirates Stadium believe they are in pole position to snap up their prime January target.
Arsenal are growing increasingly confident they have won the race to land Crystal Palace wonderkid Wilfried Zaha.
The 20-year-old England international is a prime target for Arsene Wenger and the club will make a starting £9million offer next month.

Arsenal have had plenty of success with purchasing players from the ‘lower leagues’ and if they do indeed win the race to sign the Crystal Palace attacker then it could well signal the departure of winger Theo Walcott.
The 20 year old England international has shown great potential over the past 18 months and Arsenal are just one of a number of club’s keen to see if Zaha can make the jump from the Championship to the top tier.
The young attacker has helped his South London side to the top of the table but it seems that Wilfried Zaha will experience Premier League action sooner than his club colleagues as new boss Ian Holloway struggles to retain the highly-rated Ivory Coast born forward.
Wenger has brought the aforementioned Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey and Carl Jenkinson from the Championship and League One and seen all make fairly speedy impacts at the Emirates Stadium.
Any move to snap up Zaha would leave Arsenal with a fair few wide attacking options and could therefore see them accept offers for Walcott, who has barely six months to run on his current contract and would be allowed to leave on a free in the summer, hence the potential to at least attract a fee of some form in January.
