It is safe to say that the Blue Moon has been rising over recent years and when Manchester City won their first Premier League title in the most dramatic fashion back in May, it was at an all time high.
Manchester United are the team that are desperate to bring it back down this campaign and will be looking to take all three points from the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
These two are the strongest teams in the Premier League once more this term and despite not playing at their best right now – occupy fist and second place in the top flight. United are three points clear of their rivals at the moment, so it is the red half of Manchester that have the slight advantage.
Although they look to be similar in ability this campaign, the Citizens and the Red Devils have accumulated their points in very different manors.
Roberto Mancini’s men have prided themselves on being hard to beat and although they have drawn six games this season, haven’t lost any. They have scored nine fewer goals than United though – with the likes of Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko chipping in, but not firing on all cylinders.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s side are completely different, they have not drawn a game yet and although they are conceding on a regular basis, always seem to outscore their opponents. Robin van Persie has found the net ten times this campaign.
It all makes for a quite thrilling 90 minutes of Premier League action and if both sides are at their best – it is sure to go down as one of the games of the season.
The momentum that a win would give either side going into this massive month of fixtures could have a huge say on whether the title is heading to the Etihad Stadium or Old Trafford this season.
