Etihad Stadium side target Corinthians midfield dynamo.
Roberto Mancini wants his Manchester City bosses to sign Brazilian star Paulinho in the transfer window.
Mancini has asked his money-men to finance a move for the midfield dynamo, who’s set to play for Corninthians in the Club World Cup this week, and hopes to do a deal at around £12 million.
The Italian thinks he needs fresh legs in midfield, where his side have been relying on Yaya Toure and Gareth Barry, with Nigel de Jong sold in the summer and replacement Javi Garcia failing to make an impact.

Roberto Mancini is no stranger to spending for spending’s sake and it appears that the Italian is looking to bring in yet another player to add to his ever expanding squad.
The Italian may well not be too happy with the displays of some of his current options but any move to sign Paulinho would clearly leave summer signings Javi Garcia and Jack Rodwell wondering why they bothered moving to the Etihad Stadium, well aside from the massive pay cheque of course.
Paulinho is a well rounded midfielder who is able to put in the tough tackles one would expect from a defensive midfielder whilst also being a very real attacking threat. A move for the Corinthians man could well be considered a necessity due to Yaya Toure’s involvement in the African Nations Cup for much of January and February.
Chelsea are also said to be interested in the 24 year old Brazilian international.
