Serie A side want Loftus Road star.
Fiorentina hope to capitalise on Queens Park Rangers’ struggle to avoid relegation by making a £5.6million bid for midfielder Esteban Granero next month.
The 25-year-old was one of QPR’s marquee signings last summer and is believed to have a £5.5m release clause which can be triggered if Rangers are relegated this season.
With QPR bottom of the Premier League, Fiorentina are now planning to test Rangers’ resolve even though Granero has struggled to make an impact in England.
Granero joined in a deal worth up to £9m from Real Madrid and is one of the highest earners at the club after agreeing a four-year contract.
This may be an offer that Harry Redknapp and QPR owner Tony Fernandes consider accepting. The Spanish midfielder has failed to impress since his arrival at Loftus Road and the fact that the offer on the table exceeds the amount the club can expect following a more than likely relegation it’s one that could be one that they deem acceptable.
Granero is one of a number of summer signings that have failed to impress and the West London side may well have to sell before they can offer Redknapp decent sums to improve a squad that seems destined for the drop.
The stylish midfielder has struggled to adapt to the pace of life in the English top tier and could well be tempted by any move to join Fiorentina in January.
Vincenzo Montella’s Florence based side are doing well this term, sitting in sixth spot in Serie A after just three defeats in their first 16 games of the current campaign.
