La Liga giants prepare massive offer for White Hart Lane winger.

Italian source CalcioMercato claim that Real Madrid will look to entice Tottenham into selling long term target Gareth Bale by offering €70m (£56m) for the 23 year old Welsh winger.

The La Liga giants have been strongly linked with interest in the former Southampton man for some months and having secured the signing of his former team-mate Luka Modric some may say that attempts to sign Bale may well have become all the more likely.

Andre Villas-Boas knows he faces a tough task keeping such an accomplished players at White Hart Lane and even securing a top four finish may not prevent a possible summer departure but any move in January seems far less likely.

Gareth Bale had a difficult time of it initially at Tottenham, when he was used primarily as a left-back, but over the past three seasons the wide-man has progressively become more and more effective, providing goals and assists with alarming regularity.

Talk of a possible Cristiano Ronaldo departure, however far fetched, may well further ramp up talk of a bumper bid for Gareth Bale.
