Almost certainly high up on Chelsea’s January wish-list is another striking option and the German forward could well be the ideal fit for the West London club.

Chelsea’s interest in Andre Schurrle is well known and it will take a bid in excess of the £20m that failed over the summer in order for Roman Abramovich to secure the highly rated German international.

Some sources suggest that any move for the young attacker will have to wait until next summer and whether that is the case or not the Bayer Leverkusen forward would be a very wise addition to the Stamford Bridge ranks.

Schurrle has helped Bayer Leverkusen into second spot in the Bundesliga with a series of good all round performances.
