Stamford Bridge side ready to dig deep to land long term target.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is prepared to make Radamel Falcao the club’s top earner by offering the striker a staggering £10million-a-year contract.
The Colombia forward is the club’s No 1 transfer target and the Russian billionaire is determined to ensure the prolific South American becomes the next global superstar to make his way to Stamford Bridge.
And Sportsmail has learned the West London club will offer the 26-year-old a deal worth in the region of £200,000-per-week, to lure Falcao.
The pay package would eclipse the club’s current top earner Fernando Torres, who is understood to earn £175,000-per-week.

Now this is the kind of offer that could test any player’s loyalty.
£10.4m a year, or £200k a week, is an offer that Atletico Madrid can not even dream of getting anywhere near and if Radamel Falcao is sufficiently money-minded, and let’s face it we all are, then such an offer could make the Colombian consider his options.
The 26 year old has been scoring goals, quite literally, for fun. 19 in 15 matches thus far this season to go with the 36 he managed in his debut season at the Vicente Calderon.
It’s the type of goal-scoring record that has led to an ever growing interest in the former FC Porto man.
Atletico Madrid are known for cashing in on their star-turns; Fernando Torres, Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero to name just four. Diego Simeone’s side are genuine La Liga title contenders though this term and that could perhaps buy the club a six month stay of execution.
Chelsea certainly need alternative attacking options and Roman Abramovich appears to have the taste for spending again after forking out £80m on new additions over the summer.
Falcao is perhaps the most talented forward the West London side could realistically sign and as such the Russian billionaire appears ready to spend big to get his man.
