Rossoneri to lose Brazilian next month.
AC Milan coach Massimo Allegri has confirmed that former Manchester City forward Robinho wants to return to Brazil.
The tricky forward is now expected to rejoin Santos in January, in what will be his third spell with the club having started his career at Santos and spent a time on loan back in Sao Paulo in 2010.
Robinho’s departure will come as a blow to Milan although the 28-year-old has often been used from the bench so far this term.
Allegri said the San Siro outfit are still searching for replacements for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva, who both joined big-spending PSG over the summer, before admitting that Robinho wanted to leave the Rossoneri.
“The club knows perfectly well which players I like and could replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva,” Allegri is quoted as saying by Football Italia.
“Robinho has told us he wants to go home to Brazil. Obviously, if he changes his mind then we will be very happy to keep him here, but if he wants to go then it’s right he does.”
The former Real Madrid star has made 71 Serie A appearances for Milan, scoring 22 goals.
