Pep Guardiola was the most successful boss in Barcelona’s illustrious history, delivering 14 trophies in just four years at the Nou Camp.
But the 41-year-old unexpectedly quit this summer to take a year-long sabbatical away from football.
Guardiola has insisted he will return to management next summer however and his suitors already forming an orderly queue…
5. Manchester United
Rumours are abound that Guardiola is the man Sir Alex Ferguson has earmarked to replace him at Old Trafford. In fact, with Fergie set to be in New York next week, the intriguing possibility has arisen of fresh talks between the pair. There aren’t many clubs in world football as big as Barcelona but United are certainly on a par with the Catalans and have the infrastructure, players, history and support to attract Guardiola, who would surely relish the challenge.
That said, replacing Ferguson is going to be a tough ask and the Scot is showing no signs of retiring any time soon. Guardiola is unlikely to want to hang around too long in the Big Apple, particularly with the likes of Chelsea clamouring for his signature.
