Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (Schalke)
This source states that the striker position remains Arsenal’s priority in January, with an offer of around £6million expected for the Dutch international, though Newcastle United’s Demba Ba is also an option.
Moves for Huntelaar may have been helped by the sacking of Schalke boss Huub Stevens today which could leave the Bundesliga side open to a bid for a player who will be out of contract in the summer.
The 29 year old has scored goals with alarming regularity over the past 18 months and after plying his trade in the Dutch Eredivisie, La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga the former Ajax, Real Madrid and AC Milan man may be interested in giving the Premier League a go.
Arsenal need new attacking options as currently Wenger relies on Olivier Giroud, a player who has at times struggled for form this season, netting just four Premier League goals in 16 appearances.
