Emirates Stadium flop targeted by Serie A giants.
Italian source CalcioMercato claim that Serie A side Inter Milan want Marouane Chamakh. Yes that’s right, that is the self-same Marouane Chamakh who hasn’t played a single minute of Premier League football this season because he is simply THAT abysmal.
CalcioMercato suggest that the 28 year old Moroccan would be brought in as a back-up to Argentine veteran Diego Milito but even as a reserve striker this is a mistake that the Serie A side would surely not consider making.
Though Arsenal didn’t pay a penny for the former Bordeaux forward, Chamakh is reportedly on a £65k a week deal that is clearly a huge waste of money as the misfiring striker is essentially only really brought out to take part in Capital One Cup encounters and the occasional Champions League fixture when the North London side have already qualified for the next stage.
Inter Milan have had a couple of very lean years but have corrected themselves under the guidance of young boss Andrea Stramaccioni, a manager who is known for his willingness to trust to youth. This makes such a move all the more confusing/unbelievable.
Any move, loan or permanent, will be gladly accepted by Arsene Wenger, even if that would leave his attack even more threadbare than it currently is.
Chamakh has scored one goal in his last 25 Premier League appearances.
