Goodison Park midfielder set for strong penalty.
Everton’s Marouane Fellaini is sweating on a call from the FA today (Monday) as he faces up to a possible NINE-match ban.
The worst of three incidents involving the Belgian was a blatant headbutt towards the Potters defender – yet each incident went unpunished by referee Mark Halsey.
Fellaini, who ended the game without even a booking, is almost certain to be hit with a three-match ban for the headbutt alone – ruling him out of the games with West Ham, Wigan and Chelsea.
Fellaini issued a grovelling apology on Saturday night, admitting: “I have no excuses.”

The incidents that Fellaini was involved in were so blatant that even Everton boss David Moyes has stated his annoyance with the midfielder’s behaviour and the Toffees are set to hit the Belgian with a maximum fine of £150k, equivalent to two weeks wages.
The worst of Fellaini’s offences came in the form of a headbutt on Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross (see below).
The 25 year old is also accused of elbowing the Potters captain in another incident and slapped Shawcross in the face on a third occasion to boot.
If Fellaini is handed with a lengthy then Everton will greatly miss the presence of the attack minded midfielder who has been pivotal in the club’s excellent start to the season.
