Wheeler dealer wants battler at Loftus Road.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp wants to sign Tottenham’s Jake Livermore in January, fanatix has learnt.
Redknapp handed the midfielder his debut for Tottenham last season and Livermore went on to make 38 appearances in total for the North London club.
The 23-year-old has since been capped by England but, after a strong start to the season, has found himself on the sidelines at White Hart Lane, with Redknapp’s successor Andre Villas-Boas handing him just 3 league starts this term.
This is a move that makes perfect sense.
Harry Redknapp was a big fan of Jake Livemore during his spell in charge of Tottenham and handed the youngster his debut last term – the first of 38 appearances in total for the Tottenham academy product.
But the young midfielder has found his chances more limited by new Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas, who has preferred young rival Tom Carroll in Europa League games so far this campaign.
Redknapp is clearly in need of added steel at QPR and although a winger and a striker remain the priority, the veteran boss would surely jump at the chance to add a player as committment and hard-working as Livermore to his squad.
That said, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is a notoriously hard negotiator and Redknapp may find that his former boss demands too much for the 23-year-old.
