Anfield side keen on strengthening squad in January transfer window.
According to Italian source CalcioMercato Liverpool are readying moves to bring in a trio of continental talent as Brendan Rodgers looks to beef up his Anfield squad.
Chief among those named would appear to be Lyon forward Bafetimbi Gomis.
Liverpool’s need for striking reinforcements is visible for all to see, even prior to Fabio Borini being sidelined with a broken foot it was all to evident that the Merseyside club did not have enough in the way of firepower and it’s a situation Rodgers wanted to avoid but was left shocked by his side’s inability to bring in a deadline day addition to boost numbers.
The Anfield boss will look to his board to sanction a bid that he hopes will tempt Lyon into selling in order to help balance the books.
27 year old powerful forward Gomis impressed many during his time at Saint-Etienne, with the French international scoring 45 goals in his last three seasons at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, earning him a £11m move to Lyon.
Bafetimbi Gomis scored a solid 15 and 14 goals in his first two seasons at Lyon but last term upped his game to produce a career best of 25 goals across all campaigns.
Gomis has scored 13 goals in 19 games thus far this season and could feel that January is the opportune time to consider a move away from the French top tier and a Liverpool switch could tempt the in-form marksman.
