Loftus Road side want Uruguayan centre-back.
Italian source TuttoMercato are today reporting that QPR are lining up a move for PSG veteran defender Diego Lugano.
The Uruguayan international appears to be surplus to requirements at the Parc des Princes and could be interested in a move to the Premier League and the 32 year old defender could well help to solidify Harry Redknapp’s very leaky back-line.
Though QPR have hit a good run of form since Redknapp took over at the West London club they could still do with strengthening a defence that has conceded 30 goals in 17 Premier League matches this season.
Lugano moved to PSG in the summer of 2011 but has seen the signings of Brazilians Alex and Thiago Silva greatly restrict his involvement under Carlo Ancelotti.
The former Sao Paulo man has made just 12 appearances since he moved to the French capital following a successful five year spell at Fenerbahce.
Lugano may feel he can re-ignite his career in London but would command a fairly high pay packet but could perhaps be picked up ‘on the cheap’ in January.
