Anfield side keen on PSG marksman.
The Mirror can reveal that Liverpool are ready to turn to France international Kevin Gameiro if talks with Sturridge break down irretrievably.
The Reds’ neighbours Everton have also been pursuing Paris Saint-Germain forward Gameiro, who has been out in the cold at the club since the arrival of Sweden star Zlatan Ibrahimovic last summer.

Liverpool have been linked with interest in Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge but appears that a move to Anfield has been put on the back-burner and therefore a switch of direction to PSG marksman Kevin Gamiero could gain more traction.
The former Lorient man had a solid first term at the Parc des Princes but has seen the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic greatly limit his role in Carlo Ancelotti’s first team set-up and whilst the big spending Ligue 1 side are battling for a domestic title and competing in the Champions League Gameiro may feel that his personal development is hamstrung by his lack of involvement.
Brendan Rodgers certainly needs to improve Liverpool’s attacking options as he currently relies heavily on Luis Suarez and the 25 year old French international could well be an ideal target to bring in to act as foil to the Uruguayan international.
Gameiro may feel that a move to Anfield could signal a new challenge and could help force his way back into the national team set-up.
