Emirates Stadium side target quality young talents.
Southampton left-back Luke Shaw and Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha have also been identified as players who could further enhance the core of young British talent.
This week Arsene Wenger was given a much needed boost as five young talents all put pen to paper on long term deals. The five in question; Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey and Carl Jenkinson, are all all British and it appears that the North London side wish to continue to assemble a future side with further additions of players who represent the UK.
Wilfried Zaha has recently won his first senior England cap, which is quite a feat given he is plying his trade in the Championship and yet to taste Premier League football. The young winger has been in fine form over the past 18 months and has become a much sought after property and now Wenger hopes to land the 20 year old starlet.
Moves to bring in Luke Shaw could represent yet another Southampton raid. Arsenal have previously brought in the aforementioned Oxlade-Chamerblain and Theo Walcott from the South-Coast side and are not looking to snap up the left-back.
Moves to bring in Shaw could perhaps spell the end of Andre Santos’s Arsenal career, with the Brazilian struggling to retain a spot in the Gunners first team, with Gibbs seemingly being Wenger’s first choice starter for the position.
