Marseille man St James’ Park bound.
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has agreed a £10m deal for Loic Remy – paving the way for Demba Ba to leave next month.
Marseille striker Remy, 25, is poised to move in January in a deal which could involve Sylvain Marveaux going the other way.

If indeed this deal has been completed then it would certainly suggest that Newcastle United are resigned to losing Demba Ba next month.
Should Alan Pardew lose the Senegal international then Loic Remy may well be a very useful replacement for in the in-form Magpies striker.
The 25 year old finished as the top scorer at the Stade Velodrome in both the past two seasons but has struggled to retain a spot in new boss Elie Baup’s starting eleven and the fact that OM are challenging for the Ligue 1 title would suggest that this decision has worked well for Marseille.
The former Nice forward scored 37 goals in the last two seasons but has scored just twice this year as Andre Pierre-Gignac more often than not gets the nod as Marseille’s starting forward.
If Pardew can indeed use Sylvain Marveaux as part of any deal, which would presumably reduce the amount needed to sign Remy, then Newcastle United may well be killing two birds with one stone.
The former Rennes man has failed to make an impact in the North-East and after 18 months, and only three Premier League starts, a move back to Ligue 1 suit all parties.
