Emirates Stadium attacker set for Madejski Stadium switch.
Check in to Reading vs Swansea City
READING FC have stepped up their pursuit of out-of-favour Arsenal midfielder Andrey Arshavin.
The 31-year-old Russian has been a peripheral figure at the Emirates this season and reports claim he is close to moving to Berkshire in a deal worth around £4m.
Zenit St Petersburg and Fulham have also been linked with the midfielder but it appears Reading will win the bidding battle when the transfer window opens on January 1.

This is a move that may well suit all parties but will not have been one anyone could have predicted four years ago.
Andrei Arshavin was lauded as one of the top talents in Europe following his exploits at the Euro 2008 finals and a few months later he secured a £15m move to join Arsenal where his career should then have progressed ever upwards. However this never quite occurred.
The 31 year old winger has been a disappointment for much of his four years at the Emirates Stadium, save for a four goal haul at Liverpool and a goal against Barcelona, and now Arsene Wenger is ready to call time on Arshavin’s Gunners career.
Arshavin will be hoping to re-ignite his career at the Madejski Stadium and owner Anton Zingarevich will look to the former Zenit man to provide the impetus his side needs to help boost their chances of securing Premier League survival.
Reading currently sit bottom of the Premier League after a run of seven straight defeats.
