The two teams last met in The FA Cup semi-final in 1982, in a typically hard-fought cup match. Following a tense first half, R’s striker Clive Allen made the difference in the second half when he latched onto a loose ball and scored the only goal of the game. His goal ensured QPR progressed to The FA Cup Final where they met Spurs, who ran out eventual 1-0 winners in the replay.
