Emirates Stadium side target young French wide-man.
Arsenal are mulling over a shock move for Leicester City winger Anthony Knockaert, according to reports.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is on the look-out for up to three new players in the January transfer window, and winger Knockaert is the latest player to catch his eye.
Fulham and Sunderland are just two of those known to be tracking Knockaert, but according to RMC Arsenal are now mulling over a bid in the new year.
Leicester are thought to value the player at around £5million.
21 year old Foxes wideman Knockaert, who join Championship side Leicester City from French Ligue 2 side Guingamp in August, has impressed in the English second tier, scoring five goals in 22 matches.
The former Lens youth team player is a current France under-21 international has reportedly appeared on the Emirates Stadium radar after collecting a bagful of assists.
Leicester City are mounting a sustained push for promotion to the top tier but perhaps Knockaert will move to the Premier League sooner?
Clearly Arsene Wenger has seen the fruits of shopping in the English lower leagues in the recent past with Carl Jenkinson, Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott all making an impact at the North London club.
One wonders if Arsenal would feel the need to make such a move next month, Wenger may elect instead to monitor the youngster for the remainder of the season given that he has more than a few options for wide attacking roles.
