Old Trafford youngster to help in Latics relegation dogfight.
Angelo Henriquez has revealed that Manchester United have blocked him from playing for Chile so he can finalise a loan move to Wigan Athletic.

Clearly Sir Alex Ferguson feels there is more to be gained by sending Angelo Henriquez to Wigan on a loan deal than the young striker representing his country at the South American Under 20 Championship and a short term move to the DW Stadium should give the Chilean international a good grounding in Premier League experience.
Roberto Martinez could well feel he could do with some attacking support though his Latics side did manage to net three times at Villa Park on the weekend.
Wigan Athletic sit in 16th spot, just one point off the relegation zone and could well be looking to beef up their squad in next month’s transfer window.
Having arrived at Old Trafford in the summer Chilean forward Angelo Henriquez the 18 year old has been seeing action only in the Man United Under 21 set-up, this is despite the fact that the teenager is a full international. Therefore the chance to play at Premier League level suits all parties.
Sir Alex Ferguson would get an understanding as to just how close to the first team Henriquez actually is, being able to judge him effectively in a top tier setting.
Wigan Athletic get to beef up their attack and the former Universidad de Chile youngster gets to prove himself at senior level, this is perhaps all the more relevant given that Ivory Coast international Arouna Kone will be away on African Nations Cup duty for much of January and February.
