Ten players the Emirates Stadium side should have on their January shopping list.
10. Mohamed Diame (West Ham)
Arsenal have had to rely on the usually creative Mikel Arteta in a holding role as the Gunners lack a quality ‘enforcer’ and a move for West Ham midfielder Mohamed Diame may be a cheap one well worth considering.
The Senegal international has a £3.5m release clause and the displays the 27 year old has put in this season, most notably in West Ham’s win over Chelsea, certainly make such an outlay something of a bargain price for the former Wigan Athletic man.
9. Jetro Willems (PSV Eindhoven)
Young full-back could well be keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium and the Dutch international is said to be on Arsene Wenger’s wish-list and there could be an opening for a left-back to join the Arsenal squad.
England man Kieran Gibbs has been very impressive when available but does suffer with consistent injury concerns and Brazilian Andre Santos has been woeful this term and didn’t endear himself with the Gunners faithful when he asked for Robin Van Persie’s Man United shirt at half-time.
Willems was the youngest participant at the Euro 2012 finals and is a big talent for the future.
