Upton Park move on the cards for Anfield bench warmer.
Sky Sports understands that Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole is undergoing a medical at West Ham United.
Cole’s future has been the subject of speculation for some time as he has failed to establish himself as a starter at Anfield this season after returning from a season on loan at Lille.
Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed he still admires the player, having previously worked with him at West Ham.
It emerged earlier on Wednesday that the Hammers had made an enquiry over the 31-year-old’s availability, and it now appears a move could be close as he is thought to be having a medical.
Sam Allardyce has admitted his squad is ‘down to the bare bones’, and he is keen to bring in players who can help for the rest of the season.

It would appear that a permanent move back to Upton Park is on the cards for 31 year old Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole and it may well be a move that suits all parties.
Sam Allardyce gets an experienced player looking to re-ignite his career, Joe Cole gets the first team football he deserves and Liverpool get to rid their balance sheet of the bit-part player’s reported £90k a week wage packet.
Any move to West Ham would have to be a permanent one as a Premier League side can not loan more than one player a season from any one club and the East London side have already brought in Andy Carroll this term.
Joe Cole has shown signs of improvement this term, scoring twice in his past four outings, however Brendan Rodgers is yet to hand the former England international a Premier League start and is less likely to do so if he manages to bring in the new signings he is after this month.
