On-loan Real Madrid midfielder set to leave Liverpool
The Independent are suggesting that Nuri Sahin’s stay at Anfield is set to come to a premature end.
The on-loan Real Madrid midfielder has struggled to impress since arriving at the club during the summer and reports are surfacing that the player will depart Liverpool during this winter’s transfer window. One possible destination for the Turkish international has been suggested to be Inter Milan as a possible replacement for want-away midfielder Wesley Sneijder. Sahin might prefer a move back to Germany however, where Borussia Dortmund, the player’s former club, are reported to be willing to welcome him back into their fold.
Less than two seasons ago, Sahin was being touted as one of the most promising players on the European stage having helped Dortmund to the Bundesliga title.
That prompted Real Madrid to spend over £8 million on the player but injuries prevented him from breaking into the first team last season. With Liverpool looking to find goal-scoring reinforcements this January, the club seem happy to allow Sahin to leave and lighten the load on their wage budget.
