Paris St Germain Striker Dismisses Talk of Anfield Move

Liverpool have suffered a setback in their search for reinforcements up front after Paris St Germain striker Kevin Gameiro reaffirmed his commitment to the big-spending club, according to Sky Sports.

After a summer which saw the recruitment of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi to the PSG front line, Gameiro has found his first team opportunities increasingly reduced, but has vowed to fight for his place, until the summer at least.

Responding to speculation about on an immanent move for the former Lorient centre-forward, Gameiro told French radio station RMC ‘I have already told everybody that I am a Paris St Germain player and I hope to remain so until the end of the season’.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers is desperate to bring in some more firepower for his side with the team currently possessing Luis Suarez as their only available striking option. Whilst the anticipated arrival of Daniel Sturridge is expected to lighten the burden on the Uruguayan international, Rogers is seeking to continue adding to his squad with Fabio Borini having spent a significant spell on the sidelines following surgery on his foot.
