Inter Milan and Lazio ready to swoop for Chelsea star
Frank Lampard is reportedly ready to pack his bags and leave for Italy on a free at the end of the season. The Metro is reporting that both Inter Milan and Lazio are ready to offer Lampard a home if the player fails to agree a new contract with Chelsea.
Inter are so keen to land the goal-scoring midfielder, they have made him their number one target for the January transfer window. The Nerazzurri President, Massimo Moratti, is a long-term admirer after having been alerted to the player’s skills by former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
Lampard is said to be keeping his options open at this stage, but with the turn of year meaning foreign clubs are now able to meet with Lampard to discuss possible terms of a move, Chelsea are risking losing one of the fan’s favourites for nothing.
The England international has received praise from all directions recently, including former coach Ray Wilkins and QPR manager Harry Redknapp, with many in disbelief that the Blues are considering letting a player of Lampard’s calibre go.
