The Irons set to make move for Villa left-back
Out of favour Villa left back Stephen Warnock is set to be offered an escape route from Villa Park by West Ham manager Sam Allardyce.
The former England international has spent the last three months on loan at Bolton Wanderers after finding himself surplus to requirements under the new guidance of Paul Lambert. With the playing hitting 31 last month, Warnock is keen to seal a move away from Villa in order to continue playing regular first team football and according to The Birmingham Mail is tempted by a move to the capital.
Bolton are also reportedly keen on extending the player’s stay at The Reebok but it remains unclear whether the defender will be tempted by the chance to return to Premiership football.
The former Liverpool player has twice been capped by England and was part of the squad who travelled to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup and while there is no suggestion that Warnock might return to that kind of standard, he is said to be eager to make a return to top flight football.
