QPR offered to sign Dutch superstar
Relegation threatened QPR have been offered Wesley Sneijder. The Sun reports that manager Harry Redknapp received a shock call from Inter Milan representatives, who are cold-calling a host of clubs in the hope of offloading the Dutch international.
Wesley Sneijder has recently fallen out with the Italian club, who are unhappy with the high wage demands enforced onto the club. Arsenal and Chelsea have both snubbed the chance of signing the midfielder. Redknapp indicated that he too would turn down the chance to sign Sneijder due to the high wage demand.
Redknapp said: “I was asked by one agent if I wanted to sign Sneijder.
“Of course I do. However, he’s on about £200,000 a week and now he wants to join QPR?
“I won’t name the agent, but let’s just say I think a deal is unlikely.”
Redknapp is planning to make around three to five signings this year in an attempt to save QPR. Since losing out on Joe Cole, the QPR boss is planning to lure Mohamed Diame away from West Ham for a £5 million fee, which would set off a £3.5 million escape clause. Upton Park supremo David Gold and David Sullivan are looking to offer an improved deal which could see Diame earn an extra £10,000 a week.
