Former Everton midfielder ready to join Black Cats on loan
Former Everton favourite Tim Cahill is on the verge of joining Sunderland on a short term loan deal, according to The Daily Mail.

The 33 year old Australian is currently available having completed the MLS season in America with his team New York Red Bulls.
The terms of the deal are rumoured to be similar to those which saw Landon Donovan and Thierry Henry join Everton and Arsenal respectively.
Everton fans will remember Cahill fondly for his uncanny ability of getting himself on the end of aerial balls despite his short stature.
The Australian international scored 68 times in 278 appearances for David Moyes’ side after joining for a mere £1.5 million from Milwall.
Famed for his boxing celebration, the powerful midfielder went on to captain the side before leaving for the States in July 2012.
Sunderland are looking for reinforcements after a disappointing first half of the season where Martin O’Neil’s men managed just 21 goals, putting them amongst the league’s lowest scorers.
The Black Cats will be hoping that with Cahill joining them at the Stadium of Light, there will be a more incisive presence in the midfield, which could stop them being dragged into a relegation dogfight.
They are expecting a response from Cahill within the next 24 hours but QPR and Aston Villa are waiting in the wings ready to swoop should the deal fall through.
