The 28-year-old Hoarau, who has just six months remaining on his contract at French League leaders PSG, has been given permission to leave the club’s winter training camp in Qatar to go and speak to overseas clubs over a move in the January transfer window.
Everton and Sunderland were keen to bolster their squads by signing Hoarau in a cut-price deal and had hoped for discussions, but the striker has chosen a significant financial offer to join Dalian Aerbin having also spoken to their Chinese Super League rivals Shanghai Shenhua, who look set to lose Didier Drogba during the transfer window.
Hoarau, who has played five times for the French national team since making his debut in 2009, has been with PSG since 2008. He was signed for just 500,000 Euros from Le Havre after firing the club to promotion from Ligue 2, and has scored 38 times in 111 appearances since joining Parc Des Princes side PSG.
But he has fallen out of favour this season following the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from AC Milan and has had to make do with bit-part appearances.
