Sam Allardyce clearly feels his side is in desperate need of help up front. Having secured a loan deal to bring in Arsenal forward Marouane Chamakh the Upton Park side have now brought in in-form Brazilian Wellington Paulista to further boost their attacking options.
The 28 year old is something of a journeyman forward who will join the Hammers on an initial six month loan deal and will hope to make a sufficient impact that Allardyce offers a permanent switch to the Cruzeiro forward.
Wellington has scored 19 goals this term and is due to arrive tomorrow for a medical.
Paulista will not require a work permit to move to the Premier League as he has an EU passport, so could figure immediately for the Hammers and his only other experience of European football came at Spanish side Alaves in 2006.
