White Hart Lane star wanted in Spain.
Real Madrid are to reignite their interest in signing £60million-rated Gareth Bale from Tottenham as a replacement for the unsettled Cristiano Ronaldo.
Welsh international Bale is one of the stars of the Premier League and Madrid see his pace and trickery as the perfect combination to replace star man Ronaldo, who is expected to leave the Bernabeu at the end of the season.
Bale was targeted by Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho in the summer, but Tottenham resisted any advances and held onto the left-sided star. He has duly repaid Tottenham by flourishing under new coach Andre Villas Boas with 10 goals in 19 appearances this season.
According to the Sunday Mirror, Tottenham have slapped a £60million price tag on Bale’s head with the winger only putting pen to paper on a new four-year deal in the summer. But Real Madrid are ready to meet it as they prepare for life after Ronaldo, who will leave for a bigger transfer fee with Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester United the two most likely destinations.
Tottenham have already signed Lewis Holtby from Schalke ahead of next season and are targeting more midfield reinforcements in the shape of Porto’s Portuguese star Joao Moutinho as well as Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao from Internacionale.
