£15million plus Gomes the deal to sign Brazilian star.
Tottenham are preparing a £15million offer and throwing in unwanted goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes for good measure to secure the capture of talented Brazilian international Leandro Damiao.
White Hart Lane boss Andre Villas-Boas watched the 23-year-old Leandro during the 2012 Olympics in London, in which he ended the tournament as top scorer with six goals, and considered signing him during the summer transfer window after taking over at Tottenham.
The £20million asking price wanted by Leandro’s club Internacional put him off at the time, but he is now ready to use the out-of-favour Gomes, who is now the third choice goalkeeper at Tottenham after falling behind Hugo Lloris and Brad Freidel, as part of the deal with the Brazilian stopper keen to return home to conclude his career, the Sunday People report.
Leandro, 23, is one of the hottest properties in Brazil and has been linked with several big clubs but Tottenham appear to be the number one destination.
Any capture of Leandro would add to a busy January transfer window for Villas-Boas, who has already signed former Manchester United defender Zeki Fryers from Standard Liege for £3million and capture Schalke’s Lewis Holtby, who will not move to White Hart Lane until the summer.
