St James’ Park full-back on Upton Park full-back.
Italian source TuttoMercato claim that West Ham are eager to bring in Newcastle United right-back Danny Simpson.
The former Man United man is out of contract in the summer having renewed his Magpies deal at the end of last season only to see Alan Pardew opt to bring in French international Mathieu Debuchy early in the January transfer window.
This effectively leaves the 25 year old having to consider his options and seemingly a number of sides said to be interested in the experienced defender.
Sam Allardyce has been using Guy Demel as his first choice right-back thus far this season and may feel that Simpson can offer competition for the spot.
The Hammers have already brought in Joe Cole from Liverpool and Marouane Chamakh on a loan deal this month.
