Etihad Stadium striker wanted in Italy.
Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has become a transfer target for Serie A giants Inter Milan, who a plotting a £25million January transfer window raid.
Dzeko has been forced to warm the bench for much of the season with manager Roberto Mancini preferring to pair Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero in attack. But despite not starting many games, Dzeko has earned himself the super-sub tag having found the net 10 times this season.
His goals have been crucial and, with Aguero sidelined with a hamstring injury and the future of another striker Mario Balotelli unclear following a training ground bust up with Mancini last week, City will be reluctant to allow the former Werder Bremen forward leave in the January transfer window, particularly with midfielder Yaya Toure – who has chipped in with crucial goals – away on African Nations Cup duty.

The Bosnian international is a £25million target for Inter Milan, who are looking to freshen their squad as they attempt to improve on their fifth place in Serie A, nine points adrift of leaders Juventus.
But City are only likely to do any deal with Inter Milan if their £45million move for Napoli’s Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani comes off over the next three weeks.
