Real Betis midfielder on way to the Liberty Stadium?
Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup is set to return to Spain in the transfer window to capture Real Betis midfielder Jose Canas, the South Wales Echo report.
Laudrup took over at the Liberty Stadium from Brendan Rogers in the summer and has had huge success with Michu, a relatively cheap purchase who he was familiar with from his days in Spain.
And he is set to return to La Liga to sign the £1million-rated Canas, a defensive midfielder who emerged through the youth system at Real Betis before making his debut in 2009. The 25-year-old has more than 100 appearances for the club and has the kind of experience Laudrup is looking for in the defensive midfield role.
Laudrup has been unable to settle on one of his squad in the role this season with Leon Brittain, Ki Sung-Yueng, Kemy Agustien and Mark Gower all tried in the position.
Laudrup is expected to busy in the January transfer window with several clubs interested in signing Danny Graham with Aston Villa, Sunderland, Reading and QPR expressing an interest in the forward, who has played second fiddle to Michu for much of the season.
