Old Trafford side close in on England international youngster.
Manchester United expect to land Crystal Palace starlet Wilfried Zaha for £12million by the end of the January transfer window.
The Barclays Premier League leaders have held talks with Palace over a deal and although their initial valuation of the winger is lower than the Championship club’s, they have been given enough encouragement to return to the negotiating table.

There seems to be a fair amount of speculation suggesting that Man United are leading the race to sign England international Wilfried Zaha but will seemingly do so for a fee some way below Crystal Palace’s £20m valuation.
One reason the Championship side may be willing to do such a deal would be if Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was willing to loan back the 20 year old attacker for the remainder of the campaign as part of any deal, this seems entirely plausible given that the Scot has publicly stated he would not ‘sign’ any players in the January transfer window.
Zaha has been at the top of his game over the past 18 months and first came to Ferguson’s attention when he helped the Eagles to defeat Man United at Old Trafford in a Carling Cup encounter last term.
The speedy forward’s form led to an England call up last year and it’s clear that Zaha has a bright future and Ian Holloway is an honest enough man to admit that such a future is likely to lie away from Selhurst Park.
A move to Man United may be with a view to the youngster replacing Nani, with the Portuguese international seemingly now surplus to requirements at the club having made just four Premier League starts this season, the last of which came back last September.
