Goodison Park defender offered one-year extension.
Everton are to offer veteran defender Sylvain Distin a new one-year contract in a bid to stave off interest from Sunderland and QPR.

Distin has been the subject of interest from the two Premier League sides, who are in need of defensive reinforcements and who had been alerted to his potential availability with only six months to run on his contract.
But Everton have moved to hold onto the former Newcastle United, Manchester City and Portsmouth centre-back by offering him new terms through to the end of next season.

The offer follows Phil Jagielka committing his future to the club by signing a new two-year contract last week.
Everton had been heavily linked with defensive reinforcements during the January transfer window. Joleon Lescott was targeted for a return to Goodison Park before he committed his future to Manchester City, and Norwegian Vegard Forren and Dutchman Virgil Van Dijk have both been linked with a switch to the Premier League.
England international full-back Leighton Baines, meanwhile, has been rumoured to heading the other way with Manchester United and Chelsea keen on securing his services.
