Emirates Stadium side close in on new forward addition.
ARSENAL remain favourites to sign Adrian Lopez if he leaves Spain this month.
The Gunners have made some headway in trying to bring the player to the Emirates and have been in contact with Atletico Madrid officials.
Spanish reports state Lopez has tested the patience of his coach with a string of poor performances as of late.
They also claim that both sides are working around the clock to strike a deal, and that a move could happen soon.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had been strongly linked with a number of potential striker signings but have cooled their interest in the likes of David Villa and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar after Barcelona and Schalke respectively made it clear that neither target would be leaving this month.
Adrian Lopez is an entirely different kettle of fish. The former Deportivo La Coruna man has greatly angered many at the Vicente Calderon and his push for a new Atletico Madrid contract just a year after joining the club has certainly rubbed the club up the wrong way.
Given that Diego Simeone’s side are managing just fine without Lopez playing a leading role in the club’s La Liga campaign, where they sit in second spot splitting Real Madrid and Barcelona in the table, it seems entirely plausible that Atletico Madrid would be ready to accept a decent offer for Adrian Lopez, especially if they intend to fend off advances for top scorer Radamel Falcao.
Wenger hopes to strengthen his attack in January and appears to see 25 year old Spanish international Lopez as a viable option to support Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott up front. The Gunners manager can also call upon Lukas Podolski and Gervinho as possible striking options, though currently he appears to favour using the pair predominantly in wide attacking roles.
