Midfielder to link up with former boss at Selhurst Park?
Sunderland midfielder David Vaughan could drop down into the Championship to get first-team football with Crystal Palace looking to sign him on loan.
Before moving to Sunderland at the start of last season, Vaughan was an integral part of Blackpool’s success story under Ian Holloway, who is now in charge at Selhurst Park and looking to link back up with the central midfielder.

Vaughan was signed by former Sunderland manager Steve Bruce on a free transfer, but has been unable to hold down a regular berth in midfield under current boss Martin O’Neill. He has been forced to play bit-part roles from the bench this season, even despite the absence of captain Lee Cattermole through injury.
Cardiff City had been linked with a move for Vaughan, a Welsh international, in the transfer window but any deal has not been forthcoming. And Palace could steal the march on their Championship rivals.
The arrival of French under-21 international midfielder Alfred N’Diaye in a £2.5million deal on Wednesday could persuade O’Neill to allow Vaughan to leave the Stadium of Light.
