Emirates Stadium side plot move for big money attacker.
Arsenal could be about to launch a big money bid for PSG forward Ezequiel Lavezzi according to Fanatix.
The former Napoli man hasn’t had the best of times of it at the Parc des Princes and could well be considering his options.
The 27 year old has scored just two Ligue 1 goals thus far this season and has certainly not lived up to the the €30m (£24m) fee that the big spending French side forked out for his services last summer.
Arsenal could well do with fresh attacking options and Arsene Wenger has been linked with a host of potential targets but Ezequiel Lavezzi is a player who the Frenchman apparently greatly admires, does he admire him enough to fork out a hefty sum for his services?
Any successful move to snap up Lavezzi would surely have to involve a club record transfer fee but Wenger may well feel that he has to go to such lengths this month.
Wenger knows that he must secure at the very least a top four finish and therefore may feel that ends justify the means.
Lavezzi may fear that his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s first team set-up will come under threat from Brazilian starlet Lucas Moura, who has finally arrived at PSG following his summer move to the Ligue 1 side last summer.
Arsenal relied upon Olivier Giroud to provide an end product for much of the current campaign, with mixed results and even though Theo Walcott has done well in a striking role the Gunners boss will certainly be thinking of adding to his squad during the January transfer window.
