Stamford Bridge owner to conduct major clear-out.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to swing the axe this summer and will look to offload as many as ten of his Stamford Bridge squad as he plots a major squad re-shuffle.
Top of the list of those likely to be on their way out is Spanish striker Fernando Torres. The Russian billionaire is ready to listen to offers for the 28 year old, knowing full well that he will struggle to recoup even half the £50m he invested in the striker.
After doggedly defending the former Liverpool man, to the point of electing to sack Roberto Di Matteo in part due to his decision to leave Torres on the bench for the club’s vital Champions League encounter with Juventus, Abramovich will call time on the striker’s misfiring time at the West London club.
He hopes to fill the Torres’s slot with either Atletico Madrid goal machine Radamel Falcao or Napoli forward Edinson Cavani, partially funding bid’s for either striker with the money raised from the sale of the Chelsea number nine.
