Loftus Road club make £7.5million bid for midfielder.
Queens Park Rangers have stepped up their bid to sign midfielder Yann M’Vila from Rennes by upping their offer to £7.5million.
M’Vila, a 22-year-old French international, is top of QPR boss Harry Redknapp’s wanted list as he looks to save the club from relegation from the Premier League and the Loftus Road club have increased their initial £5.5million offer to Ligue 1 Rennes.

Arsenal dropped their interest in M’Vila, but Newcastle remain interested in the midfielder as they look to add new faces to a squad in desperate need of a boost following a dismal run of results.
But QPR lead the race and M’Vila is expected to agree terms as long as QPR agree to insert a release clause into his contract should the club be relegated from the top-flight at the end of the season.
Redknapp has been struggling to make an impact in the transfer market with moves for defenders Joleon Lescott, Jonas Olsson and Michael Dawson failing, but remains in the hunt to sign William Gallas from Tottenham.
QPR are also hoping to open talks with Nigerian international striker Peter Odemwingie over a transfer from West Brom, as well as capture Tottenham midfielder Jake Livermore on loan for the remainder of the season.
