South Korean on way to Anfield?
Liverpool have been linked with a surprise move for South Korean international winger Chung-Yong Lee from Championship Bolton Wanderers.
Any number of January transfer targets have been said to be on Liverpool’s wanted list, and the Daily Star on Sunday claim that the Anfield club are keen on signing fit-again Lee this month.
The 24-year-old South Korean international, who has 42 caps for his country, missed almost all of last season with a double fracture to his leg as Bolton were relegated from the Premier League but has been a regular in the Championship this season after returning to full fitness.
He was a potential target for Wigan Athletic during the summer, but a switch to Liverpool is now more likely with Lee commanding a significant seven-figure sum should manager Brendan Rodgers make a move.
Rodgers is looking to strengthen his attacking options in the transfer window with Luis Suarez having been the only striker at the club during the first half of the season.
New signing Daniel Sturridge has helped ease the burden on Suarez with two goals already since joining from Chelsea, but Rodgers is also keen to give 18-year-old Raheem Sterling a break and Lee would slot perfectly into the right-side role.
